Forest Allen
1) Fiddle from Scratch: Because Everyone Starts Off Sounding Like a Dying Cat (x2)

Always wanted to play the fiddle but afraid you’ll sound like a rusty gate in a windstorm? Good news—that’s normal. In Fiddle from Scratch, we’ll take you from scratchy, slidy, slightly painful noises to something that might actually resemble music. We’ll cover the basics—how to hold it, bow it, and make it sound less like a barnyard brawl. No experience needed, just a willingness to embrace the chaos of learning the most stubborn instrument in the multiverse. Rosin up and let’s get scratchin’!

2) Campfire Classics: Intro to Fiddle Tunes

New to fiddling or just want to get the core tunes down? Campfire Classics covers must-know melodies you’ll hear at jams and kitchen sessions everywhere. We’ll keep it fun, clear, and 100% by ear—no music stands, just fiddles and focus. This is a progressive workshop—we’ll meet twice and pick up right where we left off, building your fiddle toolkit one tune at a time.

Tired of standard tuning? In Strange Strings, we’ll retune the fiddle into something a little wilder, then learn a tune that lives in that tuning. It’s a great way to break habits and unlock new sounds. We’ll learn everything by ear—no sheet music, just deep listening and fun.

4) Deep Cuts: Lesser-Known Fiddle Gold

5) Burnin’ Rosin: Advanced Fiddle Tune Throwdown

Feeling spicy? In Burnin’ Rosin we’ll take on a tune that’ll push your speed, bow control, and brainpower. It might be crooked, syncopated, or just downright fast. We’ll learn it by ear and break it down into digestible pieces—no shame in slowing it way down.

Subtle posture shifts of your body can empower a note or key you wish to express. We will sing a couple of songs from the soul, use grounding techniques to embody amusement while singing. Let's move! 2) Vocal Modus

Elevate your sound through the four elements: Fire/Generators, Air/Vibrators, Water/Resonators, and Earth/Articulators. Let the voice be the modus (or way) to motivate any space you’re in.
